First of all – this is not a book review, just a few words about it. It is not a diary but a lively, and often humorous window into different times.

And so the book tells about our childhood in the 1920s. It talks about Hitler and the SS, about WW II, and then the post-war times.

Did we have a fun life? We sure did. True, we started from the very bottom four times, even arriving in Colorado as immigrants with just seventeen cents in our pocket.

Was it tough at times? Sure it was, but we made it a fun experience and so you will chuckle from time to time as you read about it.

All persons, locations, and happenings in this book are true, we didn't even change the players' names, whether guilty or innocent.

Maybe you wonder about the pictures on the front cover. Yes, that is the crazy couple when Margo was 17 and I was 18. She always had that twinkle in her eye.

The bombed and burned shell of the apartment building was located in Mannheim, Germany. It is the house we lived in prior to coming to the US. Naturally, we were the only human occupants.

There was just one problem with the book, - it could not be longer than 250 pages, therefore much was left untold.

Probably just as well.
